Manitoba-Made Kitchen Essentials

Ah, Thanksgiving. Whether you were able to safely get together with a few loved ones for a traditional feast or you just gobbled down an appalling amount of KD all by yourself, we hope you had a lovely day.

If you found yourself enjoying the latter of those two experiences, don’t sweat it. There’s too much pressure to have a decadent dining experience on this day as if there aren’t 364 other days in the year that are also perfectly suitable for consuming mass amounts of carbs.

At Made Here, we’re lucky to carry some awesome kitchen must-haves that make dining divine every day of the year. Check it out!

Gourmet Inspirations

Gourmet Inspirations’ locally-made sauces and rubs are sure to elevate any meal you make. Offering delicious sweet and savoury flavours such as Salted Caramel Whisky Dessert Sauce, Garlic Lovers Spread/Dip Mix, and Kickn’ Chicken Rub, to name only a few, these preservative-free condiments are culinary game-changers.

Cheese Boards by Elaine Dilay

Points for presentation, right? These outstanding cheese boards and serving trays by artist Elaine Dilay could make a few slices of American cheese and a handful of bacon bits look like the charcuterie board of your dreams. Made with acacia wood and colourful, food-safe resin, Dilay’s artful homeware is totally mesmerizing, with each unique design capturing an almost intergalactic image.

Abiding Citizen

There’s no need to spend hours in the kitchen to have an unforgettable meal. Some nights, a bowl of cereal and a strong drink does the trick. Manitoba-made bitters, syrups, and shrubs from Abiding Citizen will add elegant flavour to your favourite cocktail or mocktail.

Dream and Dine

If you didn’t have the most outstanding Thanksgiving meal, The Dream Factory’s Dream and Dine event is your chance to dine to the nines and enjoy a fabulous (virtual) dinner party.

Join The Dream Factory on November 10th for the socially-distant dinner party of the year—complete with entertainment and a can't-miss auction! Most importantly, funds raised from this evening will make dreams come true for Manitoba kids battling life-threatening illnesses.

There are two ways you can participate. With the Chef at Home option, you and seven friends can enjoy a fresh-cooked meal made in your own home by a local chef. Choose the Dinner Delivered option and have a beautiful dinner—fit for a table of eight—delivered right to your door.

After either dinner, you can tune into live entertainment and bid virtually on some incredible live auction prizes. Cheers to that!
